Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Skills Development

Statement of Need
The environment of Governments and Organizations has greatly changed in recent years. Gone are the days when operations could be done traditionally and in unconnected ways. We have entered the era where many activities are done on line thereby requiring officers to have computer and office technology competences. The level of an employee does not matter, all need to be update with technical skills in the fields of information, communications and office technology management. As skills become obsolete after few years they need to be upgraded. This programme will impart ICT skills to officers who do not have them and enhance competences of those who acquired their skills time ago.

Objectives of the Programme
This programme is designed to impart most current information and office technology skills so that officers can work and communicate more efficiently and serve internal and external customers more effectively. By the end of the programme participants shall be:

• Knowledgeable about modern office technologies
• More skilled in doing their work
• Capable of manipulating the Desk Computer and produce better quality work
• Communicating more effectively in the office
• Able to handle office and business related information for the benefit of all stakeholders

This programme is designed for Executive Assistants, Administration Assistants, Office record keepers and those officers wishing to acquire computer skills for communicating and reporting.
