Statement of Need
In the 21st Century more people choose to start business that spring from their dreams for profit making. Their visions about their future and their hopes for creating meaningful self – employment drives them to do so. Entrepreneurship today is actually the force behind National economic development. On the other hand, imparting entrepreneurship knowledge to young upcoming generation of the millennia, graduates has become a challenging task to universities, colleges, institutions of higher learning and many private sector providers of education and training. RECABI has recognized this dire need for imparting entrepreneurship knowledge and, skills and hence this programme.
Objectives of the Programme
The main objective is imparting entrepreneurship knowledge, skills, and technical tools to officers that are necessary in their business ventures. By the end of the programme participant will be able to:
- Internalize the concepts of entrepreneurship and innovations in business ventures
- Visualize the entrepreneurial decision making process
- Understand the various entrepreneurial models and research studies on factors of attributed that drive individuals to become entrepreneurs
- Identify the basic type or ways of venture – start – ups, and
- Differentiate between entrepreneur and entrepreneurship
Subject Areas shall include:
- Entrepreneurship Development and Management: Nature, objectives and concepts. Evolution of entrepreneurs & entrepreneurship
- Entrepreneurship models and research studies on entrepreneurship behavior
- Stages of entrepreneurship development
- Innovation, creativity and opportunity recognition
- Ways of business start – up and Incubation and
- Business transformation – from startup to growth & diversification
Target Participants
The beneficiaries of this program consists of all individuals who want to be self – employed as entrepreneurs and change their career path, and employees wishing to self – employee after retirement.
