Statement of Need
The ned for Financial Management for Donor Funded Project Progamm arises from many intertwined factors such as: Empirically observed weakness in knowledge and skills of Managers and staff of most donor funded projects; weakness in the financial management of donor funds, Government funds and other resources provided by other stakeholders. Weakness in accountability and lack of adequate good governance and full transparency among managers and staff managing donor funded projects, and perverse over dependence by beneficiaries on donor funds to finance operations of donor funded projects. In the light of changing world sentiments on perverse funding of government project and programs that do not seem to attain self – financial sustenance, has made a programme on the above subject most relevant at this material time.

Objectives of the Programme
The overall objective is to impact skills for Management of Donor funded projects. By the end of attending participants will be able to correctly:

  • Make effective and efficient use of resources provided by donors
  • Achieve objectives and fulfill commitments to stakeholders
  • Become more accountable to donors, funders and other stakeholders
  • Gain the respect and confidence of funding agencies, partners and beneficiaries
